Junior Girl Scout Programs

Rocks Rock Badge

The six hour program features three hands-on Geology workshops conducted by our experienced staff plus 'An Introduction to Speleology' pre-tour program, and a special interpretive tour of the caverns. All girls receive mineral & fossil specimens to take home.

Wildlife Badge - "Batty About Bats"

The six hour program features four workshops with games, activities and hands-on participation and a special interpretive tour of the caverns. After learning all about bats, troops will build large bat houses to put up in their community.

Finding Your Way Badge

Hands on activities with compasses and mapping highlight this new Junior Girl Scout badge offered at Lincoln Caverns. This six hour program has many interactive aspects and girls will have to work as teams to complete tasks.

Badge Days for Junior Girl Scouts

These Badge Event Days cater to small troops who do not have the opportunity to participate in a Council sponsored program at Lincoln Caverns or have date conflicts with their Council's dates, so they can participate in a badge program with no minimum fees required. Lincoln Caverns will for the first time this year offer opportunities for troops to register directly with Lincoln Caverns and participate in their choice of Junior Girl Scout Badge or Patch during their visit.

Pre-registration is required and will be accepted on a first-come/first-serve basis. Recieve information packet by signing up in our Scout Leader Area

Combination Badge Programs

Choose a combination of Junior Girl Scout programs offered here to complete as a two day program. Our own Junior Cave Explorer Patch may also be combined with the Rocks Rock or Finding Your Way Badge.

Bring your sleeping bags and spend the night in heated/air-conditioned comfort upstairs in our learning center. There is room to sleep up to 60 people. Restroom facilities are located in our Visitors' Center wing and refrigeration is available. Coffee maker and TV with VCR on site. Indoor lodging available for one night only: during your program.

March thru November: Enjoy primitive camping in our new group campground atop Warrior Ridge. Private, level sites in wooded areas adjoining a large field for group activities. At each group site porta-johns, fire rings, picnic tables, water for putting out fires, and trash barrels are provided. Drinking water must be carried from the Visitors Center. Firewood is available for a small fee. Easy access from Route 22 via a gravel road. Stay as long as you like: primitive camping nights unlimited.

A two-day option with lodging elsewhere is also available.

Kids Cave Crawl

Just for Junior Girl Scouts and Webelos Cub Scouts - add this exciting option to your Badge Program. Suit up like real cavers with helmet, light, and kneepads for a crawl through our very own simulated cave. $3.50 per person when reserved in advance.

Kids Cave Crawl is INCLUDED in the Junior Cave Explorer Patch Program.
