Webelos Programs

Geologist Badge

The six hour program features three hands-on Geology workshops conducted by registered Badge Counselors plus 'An Introduction to Speleology'' pre-tour program, and a special interpretive tour of the caverns. All boys receive rock, mineral & fossil specimens to take home.

Overnight lodging/camping is available the night prior to your program to Webelos dens traveling a distance to Lincoln Caverns.

Geologist Badge Days for Webelos

Join Webelos from all over Pennsylvania and surrounding states for a fun-filled day! There is no minimum fee or number of persons to participate in these pre-scheduled dates. Ideal for small Webelos dens! Participation is limited to Webelos and their leaders and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

*NEW* Cub Scout Combo Two Day Program

For Cub Packs with a zeal for learning, there is a combination of the Junior Cave Explorer Patch Program plus one of the four programs we offer at the Cub Scout level. This program will include five 45 minute workshops (6 for Webelos Geologist). Introduction to Speleology pre-tour program and Cavern Tour, plus time for lunch and gift shop breaks.

  • COMBO 2: Jr. Cave Explorer Patch w/ Maps & Compass Belt Loop & Pin (plus World of Bats Workshop)
  • COMBO 3: Jr. Cave Explorer Patch w/Webelos Geologist Pin (plus World of Bats)
Bring your sleeping bags and spend the night in heated/air-conditioned comfort upstairs in our learning center. There is room to sleep up to 60 people. Restroom facilities are located in our Visitors' Center wing and refrigeration is available. Coffee maker and TV with VCR on site. Indoor lodging available for one night only: during your program.

OR

March thru November:Enjoy primitive camping in our new group campground atop Warrior Ridge. Private, level sites in wooded areas adjoining a large field for group activities. At each group site porta-johns, fire rings, picnic tables, water for putting out fires, and trash barrels are provided. Drinking water must be carried from the Visitors Center. Firewood and ice is available for a small fee. Easy access from Route 22 via a gravel road. Stay as long as you like: primitive camping nights unlimited.

A two-day option with lodging elsewhere is also available.

Kids Cave Crawl

Just for Junior Girl Scouts and Webelos Cub Scouts - add this exciting option to your Badge Program. Suit up like real cavers with helmet, light, and kneepads for a crawl through our very own simulated cave. $3.50 per person when reserved in advance.

Kids Cave Crawl is INCLUDED in the Junior Cave Explorer Patch Program.
